The Drive From SF To Paso is Not Boring

More Paso Hype With The Help Of Tim Fish
The Wine Spectator's Tim Fish recently wrote a great review praising the Paso Robles wine country. The area has been getting some great press all around lately. While I disagree with his description of the drive along 101 from San Francisco to L.A. as "yawn-inducing". What drive is better? The expansive blue of the Pacific to your right, or being surrounded by rolling golden hills of Central California! In fact, I would argue that it's one of the better drives around, particularly the stretch from SF to San Luis Obispo. If that's a boring drive, I'd love to hear where Tim usually drives!
Anyway, all that aside, Mr. Fish describes a Paso Robles that is calling my name. The region has gone full tilt into Rhone varietals, like Grenache, and have been making some big waves in the wine world, especially in California. Still dominated by small family outfits, and hopefully will be for a long time, Paso Robles is one of the best alternative to Napa and Sonoma that you'll find in California, and I'll be there next week. I can't wait to tell you all about it.
