TreeHouse Tasting No.22 - Acre 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon

This week's TreeHouse Tasting is once again away from the ol' TreeHouse... this time at our good friend's pad, (not far from the secret TreeHouse location, actually). Miss Rachael and Bill were having a little get-together to watch the Fiesta Bowl on the t.v. I decided to bring the bottle of wine they gave me for my birthday last month. The gift: Acre Wines 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon from the Central Coast (California). Who better to share it with, right?

The bottle itself is gorgeous, with etched leafy grape vines wrapped around the label, (see photo - taken with a phone camera... sorry for the poor quality). Between Boise State touchdowns, we popped the cork and poured the Cab into our glasses. On the nose we got a cedar with black cherry, and a bit of liquorice. Very nice. On the palate we tasted some smokiness, with oak tones. It is light for a cab, with soft tannins and a soft mid-palate. Well balanced throughout.

We all, Rachael, Bill, and Miss Melody, enjoyed the Acre 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon very much. We'll score this baby 91 points. Thanks for the awesome bottle of wine! And your Boise State Broncos won, too! Hmmm... makes me wonder what we would have scored this wine if the Broncos lost?
