Black Sheep Winery Wine Tasting Notes
Black Sheep is a tough one for us to judge. On the one hand, it's in a great new location on Main Street, and we had a great time chatting with our pourer, Kathy... she was both enthusiastic and knowlegable. On the other hand, the tasting room is so unassuming and plain, which in many cases could be a good thing, but in this case is not such a good thing. It leaves it kind of boring, and lacking in personality. There is a fine line between quaint and boring.
But as we always say, it's not the surroundings, or even the wine itself, that creates a great wine tasting... It is the people you meet that make the experience. On that score Black Sheep is a winner.
The wines were cheap and good, with hardly any of the nine wines we tasted breaking the $20 mark. Their table wines, under the True Frog label, are good for the price, red or white for $10. The standouts were the Black Sheep Shiraz and the Fortissimo Port.
