Navarro Vineyards Wine Tasting Notes

No trip to Anderson Valley would be complete without a stop at Navarro Vineyards to get a taste of some of the best wines in the valley. Navarro's Pinot Noir and Gewurztraminer are kickass.The setting and landscape is both relaxing and inspiring...(of course, inspiring mostly the drinking of good wine). We loved Navarro.

The tasting room has lots to offer, including up to fourteen wines to sample; Chardonnay, Muscat Blanc, Pinot Gris, Gewurtraminer, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Syrah, and more. Besides the tasting bar, there is ample space for seating on the deck just outside the tasting room, plenty of picnic tables for chillin' out by the vineyards, and another nice space near the parking lot, (see photos below).

We were there on a weekend, and it was quite a lively, yet friendly, atmosphere. Our host went through each wine, giving us a quick run down... never rushing. One of our favorites is the Edelzwicker, a blend of Gewurztraminer, Riesling, and Pinot Gris. Smooth and perfect, like Tori Amos' voice. We also really like the Pinot Noir Methode a L'Ancienne.

They have a wine club called the "Pre-Release Tasting Program", in which you get a shipment of six to eight bottles twice a year before they're released to the public, (about $99 per six bottle shipment).

Don't forget to check out Navorro Grape Juices, too! They have Gewurztraminer, Pinot Noir, and Verjus (green juice!) for you or the kids.
