Clos Pagase Wine Tasting Tours, Hours & Prices:

Daily: 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Free guided tours of the winery and grounds at 11:30 a.m. and 2:00. No reservations required, (except for large groups).

Special events can be arranged in the secretive Clos Pegase Caves.

Clos Pagase Wine Tasting Notes

This is a great stop for first-timers and experienced winos alike. A good example of a winery owners who made a fortune in another trade, (the publishing industry), and put their money to good use by building a top-notch winery experience.

A modern building with vast grounds, it does a nice job of being elegant without being too lofty. Various pieces of modern art are on display throughout, (In the early 1990's, this tasting room is where I first saw a Chihuly glass sculpture up close), so even your non-wine-drinking pals can have something of interest, (leave them at home, next time).

A visitor's center offers cheeses and other quick foods for a picnic in Clos Pegase's beautiful picnic area under shady oak trees.

The tasting room is at the far end of the courtyard, and seems a bit small for all the grandure of the rest of the joint. But it's long bar serves well, but can be quite busy on the weekends.

There are many fun events, like music in the caves, or girl's day at the winery, or featured artists. So check the calendar for events during your visit.
