Monticello Vineyards Wine Tasting Notes

I admit, my love for all things Thomas Jefferson led me to Monticello Vineyards, with its small scale replica of Monticello, Jefferson's Virginia residence. And while the tasting room is not in the Monticello replica, you can call ahead for a private tasting inside the Jefferson House Reserve Room for $25, (we didn't know that at the time).

As we pulled into the parking lot beside the Monticello replica, we spotted Jake, a big black labrador retriever, on his back flailing his legs like he was running, chasing rabbits in the clouds. When he snapped out of his dreamy adventure, he escorted us through the picnic area to the tasting room entrance.

We paid $10 for a tasting of four wines, although the website now says $15. Our host, and Jake the dog, were both very friendly, making this a great stop.
