Plumpjack Winery Wine Tasting Notes

Plumpjack is a big name in Napa, with the winery, restaurants, wine shops, spas, and inns; but their wines are still pretty darn good, (yet quite expensive).

The winery and tasting room, nestled in along Oakville Cross Road, one of the many quaint connection roads between the busy Highway 29 and the quieter Silverado Trail, can't be seen from the road. After turning off Oakville Cross, you'll creep along a dirt road through the vineyard, and finally to the parking lot adjacent to the wine making and tasting facility.

For a $10 fee you'll get a tasting of up to five wines. While Plumpjack is technically off the beaten path, it tends to be pretty busy, but the top-notch staff will get you going quickly.

Along the Sonoma Highway (Hwy. 21/121), on your way to Napa from San Francisco, Plumpjack runs the The Carneros Inn, which includes a cafe, an upscale restaurant, and a spa resort. We have not investigated this property yet, but it looks rather luxurious.
