V. Sattui Winery Wine Tasting Notes

This is a great place for a family picinic with tables under big shady trees, and plenty of lawn to spead a blanket. The gourmet deli and cheese bar are top notch. But I can't say much about the wines, mostly because I don't remember ever tasting them!? V.Sutturi winery has been accused by the local wine snobs of being a glorified deli that makes wine as a sideline. I'm sure that's not exactly true, but it could be.

If you're looking for the neat out-of-the-way family wineries, this place probably shouldn't be on your list. It feels real tourist-y, as it is a popular stop. But this a good place to bring a big group when you're ready to eat, because it's one of the only wineries in Napa that actualy has food, a gourmet deli and over 200 cheeses from around the world. Or you could just buy a bottle of wine at the shop to drink with your pre-packed picinic lunch on their beautiful property.
