Benziger Wine Tasting Notes

A wonderful stop with a great self-guided tour of their biodynamic vineyards. You'll learn, for example, the importance of bees to organic growing technics. And for those too lazy or drunk to walk, they offer regular "tractor pull" tram tours of the vineyard, a 45 minute romp for $15.

The "u-shaped" tasting room allows lots of room to elbow your way in for a tasting. The back side of the bar is for "reserved" tasting. Very nice staff. Some cheese and snacks available in the tasting room shop.

Lots of picnic tables under shady trees. But in summer, there are lots of bees that can make it almost impossible to eat, unless you like the taste of bee.

This is a great stop to do in conjuction with a visit to Jack London Park right down the road. Take the short hike to what's left of the legendary Wolf House, Jack's dream house overlooking Napa Valley, which mysteriously burnt down before Jack ever moved in.
