DeLoach Vineyards Wine Tasting Notes

Along a beautiful stretch off Guerneville Road on Olivet Road, DeLoach tasting room is at the end of a long, straight driveway. The parking area is along side of a nice grassy and shady picnic area. Through the front gate there is a cozy courtyard with tables with umbrellas and wicker chairs. Inside, our first impression was that it seemed austere and impersonal. But the friendly staff more than made up for it. This is a good, straight-forward tasting experience. We enjoyed the Pinot's, but not so much the Chardonnays, but overall good wine.

DeLoach just began a cheese program where Culinary Director Cyndicy Coudray creates a delicious selection of artisan cheeses to pair with your wine tasting. We didn't get a chance to call ahead, and therefore didn't do this, (24 hour notice is required, and it's $10 per person).

We had packed some bread, avocado, mustard, and cheese. So we sat out in the courtyard and made some sandwiches for lunch, then walked across to the picnic area to relax under a shady tree, while the puppy stretched her legs running around in the grass. There is also a horseshoe court on the backside of the picnic area, making this a nice picnic spot for a large group.
