Twomey Cellars Wine Tasting Notes

Twomey's tasting room and wine making facility is an architectural delight. Curves and glass make up this ultra-modern building. As you taste, you face the big glass windows overlooking the wide open valley.

The tasting ($10) gives you a chance to taste some of the best wines in the Russian River area, even if you can't afford the $60+ price tag per bottle, (we certainly can't). The Merlot, (we tasted two vintages, the 2000 and 2003), are mellow and perfectly balanced. We even got the opportunity to taste the Pinot Noir, which sells out pretty quick due to the small production run, and we were blown away! Great carmel nose, and smooth as velvet.

Out back, there are about three tables with umbrellas, perfect for sipping your wine in the free Twomey glass you get with your tasting.

The awesome wine, beautiful architecture, and friendly staff make Twomey a must stop along the Russian River Wine Road.
